Tiffany Threatt Bourelle, PhD

I am a Professor of AI Ethics and Technical Communication with over 20 years of experience in technical communication, instructional design, and online education. I am currently a full professor at the University of New Mexico and an international instructor in UX localization and design, specializing in the ethical, social, and rhetorical dimensions of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, education, and legal contexts. My work bridges theory and practice, focusing on user-centered design, bias and discrimination, labor and environmental impacts of AI systems, and responsible technology governance.

I regularly lead AI Ethics and Responsibility workshops for healthcare professionals, educators, and legal practitioners, helping organizations evaluate AI tools, understand their ethical and regulatory risks, and make informed, defensible decisions in high-stakes environments. Drawing on extensive experience in curriculum design, professional training, and program administration, I offer practical, audience-specific guidance that empowers participants to critically assess AI systems and integrate responsible, human-centered practices into their daily work.
